The Power of Vision

Vision is the platform on which you can live life to the full as God intends. Without a clear vision for your life, you will waste it. Unfortunately, many people live without intentionality and understanding of who they are, what they’re called to do or where they’re going.

You cannot conceive what you don’t perceive. And until you conceive, you can neither birth nor bring to existence.

The power of vision is significant if you must make a success of your life. Without it, you will not achieve anything of positive eternal consequence.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Hosea 4:6

Sight but not vision

Many lives are wasting away owing to ignorance of the vision and purpose of God for their lives. Helen Keller said:

The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.

Helen could not make use of her sight due to blindness, but she was a woman of vision! Many have sight but not vision. Does that decsribe you?

In my 90-day devotional, SELAH, I wrote:

“Your life is a loan…someday the Lender will request that you pay back everything, with interest.”

Are you living with this knowledge in mind? If not, you lack the power of vision. It’s not enough to see; you need the power of vision to set you on course to fulfil God’s purpose for your life.

5 reasons you MUST become vision-minded

People of vision make a true success of their lives, ministry and they impact lives around them and beyond. So why is having a vision for your OWN life important?

  1. The God that created you is a Visionary (Genesis 1) and He takes vision-minded people seriously. And because God takes you seriously, others will too — 1 Chronicles 12:32.
  2. God is interested in the vision of your life. To Him, vision is such a big deal He gives you the assignment to articulate and visualiaze it. Anything that matters to God should matter to you. Habakkuk 2:2-3.
  3. Your life needs direction more than you’re willing to admit and vision is the compass that provides it. If you’re serious about living a life that’s relevant in your lifetime and beyond, get serious about becoming a person of purposeful vision. Live a life that matter!
  4. Lack of vision can lead to serious personal and collective damage — Proverbs 29:18.
  5. Vision matters because you matter – to God, to your family, to the world. We need you. But you’re only of genuine value when you live meaningfully and for the purpose you were created.

God’s investment in your life is too great to live without clarity of purpose. What are you on earth for?

Life is not a game. And you only get one chance to live it. Don’t live for nothing. You can’t afford to waste your life. Become intentional about God, your life and your purpose.
